The HYPE Project was launched during the pandemic to engage subject matter experts about creative ways to comply with social distancing measures but still provide young people with enrichment opportunities. We initially utilized the HYPE Radio & Podcast platform, which aired weekly on WCPT 820 AM Radio hosted by the organization’s co-founders, Marcus “Coach HYPE” Robinson and Earl “The Professor” Caldwell. In addition to engaging topics and information shared by guests, the show’s hosts discussed how the organization intended to utilize funding from the Illinois R3 Grant Program to deliver services aimed at helping youth pursue excellence.
